Various cultural events are expected to take place at Joseon-era (1392-1910) palaces and the former presidential office, Cheong Wa Dae, in Seoul beginning September along with the cool autumn breeze.
시원한 가을 바람이 부는 9월 초부터 서울에서는 여러 문화 행사가 조선 시대(1392-1910) 고궁 및 전 대통령 집무실 청와대에서 열릴 것으로 예상된다.
Gyeongbok Palace will offer its fall night tour program from Sept. 1 to Oct. 29 every Wednesday to Sunday, the Cultural Heritage Administration (CHA) said Monday. The spring nighttime tour, in the first half of this year, attracted a total of 112,820 visitors.
월요일 문화재청은 경복궁은 9월 1일부터 10월 29일까지 매주 수~일요일에 야간관람 프로그램을 진행한다고 밝혔다. 올해 상반기 봄 야간관람에서는 총 11만 2820명의 관람객을 모았다.
Venues open for the night tour are Gwanghwamun, Heungnyemun, Geunjeongjeon, Gyeonghoeru, Sajeongjeon, Gangnyeongjeon, Gyotaejeon and Amisan areas.
야간관람 프로그램을 진행하는 장소는 광화문, 흥례문, 근정전, 경회루, 사정전, 강녕전, 교태전, 아미산 권역 등이다.
Up to 2,700 visitors will be admitted per evening. Reservations are required and can be made through Ticket.11st.co.kr website. Online reservations will open on Aug. 25 for September admissions and Sept. 26 for October admissions, with each person limited to four tickets.
야간관람 인원은 하루 2700명까지다. 예매가 필요하며 11번가 티켓(ticket.11st.co.kr)에서 예매 가능하다. 온라인 예매는 9월 입장권은 8월 25일부터, 10월 입장권은 9월 26일부터 가능하며 1인당 예매 가능 입장권은 4매로 제한된다.
Admission fee is 3,000 won but free to people of national merit and their spouses, holders of distinguished service certificates, persons with severe disabilities and one accompanying person, seniors over the age of 65 and people wearing hanbok.
입장료는 3천원이지만 국가유공자 본인과 배우자, 국가유족증 소지 본인, 중증장애인 본인 및 동반 1인, 만 65세 이상 어르신, 한복 착용자들은 무료관람 대상자다.
Meanwhile, Geoncheonggung, often referred to as King Gojong’s private retreat, will open to the public until Sept. 18 with exhibitions that display the royal lifestyle of the Joseon era.
한편 고종 황제의 사적 거처로 칭해지는 건청궁은 조선시대 왕실 생활상을 보여주는 전시 작품과 함께 9월 18일까지 일반에 특별 개방된다.
At Changdeok Palace, “The Moonlight Tour” program will run from Sept. 7 through Oct. 22, and operate every Thursday to Sunday. Foreign language commentary in English, Chinese and Japanese will be available from Oct. 19 to Oct. 22. Up to 150 visitors will be admitted per day.
창덕궁에서는 ‘달빛기행’이 9월 7일부터 10월 22까지 진행되며 매주 목~일요일 운영한다. 영어와 중국어, 일본어로 된 외국어 해설은 10월 19일~22일까지 제공될 예정이다. 하루 150명의 관람객이 입장 가능하다.
